HD-DVD No More ; Universal Prepares for Blu-ray!
Well as the news has been buzzing around the internet lately Toshiba officially withdrew from the hi-def media market with the President Atsutoshi Noshida claiming “We concluded that a swift decision was best.” The cause of this? “We felt the the switch made by Warner Bros. made this inevitable.” he said.
With bad news comes great news, atleast in the eye of the beholder, and I am one of the beholders, as a long since supporter of Blu its nice to see this come to a close. The benefits? Universal and Paramount! President Craig Kornblau from Universal has already released a statement stating. “While Universal values the relationship and close partnership we had with Toshiba its time to turn our focus to releasing new titles and catalog releases on blu-ray.”
No details have yet to be given on which releases are planned for 2008 but today is a day for all of hi-def media goers to celebrate as now the choice is clear, Blu-Ray! Less confusion to the consumer as to which Hi def player they should buy should help bring the costs of the BD players down by years end.
