BD-Java and BD-Live will be included in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Blu Ray Release This Year, Amongst Others.
Disney has announced that starting in 2008 it plans to have some stellar releases this year and amongst the platinum editions it plans to incorporate BD-J and BD-LIVE in most if not all of them! What does that mean you ask? Its said that an interactive shopping experience will be included, and the already being reported “Up To Date Previews” which automatically updates the previews before the movie to current ones. (If your Blue ray player is connected to the internet.) Plus tons of extra features and an interactive game entitled “Maleficent’s Challenge” which puts you head on with one of Disney’s greatest villians.
Sleeping Beauty is slated to be the first Platinum Blu-Ray release this year and its expected to hit in fall of 08′
Asked about Disney’s blu-ray release plans for 2008 Bob responded enthusiastically. “This will be the year in which we start to fully exploit what Blu-ray offers. Timeless classics such as Sleep Beauty embedded with BD-J and BD-LIVE will ignite the kind of entertainment experience that people expect from Disney Platinum release.”
“With Blue-ray we have the ways to take an old animated classic and put them back on the market in ways they have never been seen before, now thats entertainment!” Chapek concluded.
I’m betting that all the Platinum editions will get the special BD-J & BD-Live Blu-Ray Treatment from Disney, which is a plus side since the kids should be able to get alot more out of the movie then just watching them with games and what not. It really will be amazing when this technology starts becoming more utilized.
